Plant Fair at Wassand Hall
18th June @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm£4.00
Plant Fair at Wassand Hall – The delightful House and garden is hidden away and not often open to the public except for some days in the summer.
This beautiful Regency house (which will also be open to the public on the day) has been in the same family ownership since 1520 and forms part of a wonderful estate which includes Hornsea Mere. It is 12 miles from Beverley and just 18 miles north of Hull.
The gardens comprise of two walled gardens, a more formal garden around the house, a woodland walk and a half mile park walk with wonderful views to Hornsea Mere. The 16th Century Walled garden was restored to designs by Charles Mitchell and in 2000 a summer house was build in the second Walled Garden using materials from the estate.
We had a very successful first event last summer when the sun shone, the ladies in the cafe excelled themselves with the cakes and scones, and lots of keen customers went home laden with plants. I look forward to welcoming you all again in 2017.
Homemade refreshments will be available throughout the day. Wheelchair access, free parking and dogs welcome on leads.
Admission: Gardens and Plant Fair £4.00 (children free) Gardens, Fair and House £6.00
