Plantation Garden
Garden Category: East Anglia
-
A rare surviving example of a private Victorian town garden, comprising nearly 3 acres created between 1856-1897 in a former medieval chalk quarry and undergoing restoration by volunteers. Architectural features include a 30ft Gothic fountain, an Italianate terrace, woodland paths and mature trees. It is an idiosyncratic garden, a haven of peace and tranquility and a glimpse into a bygone age.
