Tatton Garden Society is one of Britain’s foremost botanic and horticultural societies, with its own 11 hectare (28 acre) arboretum and botanic site open to the public and which is one of Cheshire’s “Gardens of Distinction”.
Tatton Garden Society was formed in 1962. Its purpose is the promotion of science and research in horticulture for the benefit of the public. The Society is a registered charity. We are affiliated to the Royal Botanical & Horticultural Society of Manchester & the Northern Counties and affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society Member of Botanic Gardens Conservation International.
The Society operates through a Management Committee and a series of sub-committees covering the main activities which include the management of the Society’s 28 acre arboretum, summer visits to notable gardens, winter lectures, plant sales and social events.
The Alpine Garden Society was founded in 1929 with the aim of promoting an interest in all aspects of alpine plants, rock gardening and rock garden plants, in fact any small hardy plants and bulbs, their cultivation in rock gardens and plant conservation in their natural habitats. We are one of the largest specialist garden societies in the world. Our membership includes amateur gardeners, plant enthusiasts, professional growers, botanists, naturalists, photographers and artists, as well as those who are just beginning to discover the fascination of alpines.
Whatever your interest in alpine and rock garden plants we believe our Society has something to offer everyone.
The Pelargonium and Geranium Society, was established at the start of 2009. The Society was borne out of the amalgamation of The British Pelargonium and Geranium Society and the British and European Geranium Society.
The Society welcomes all persons who are interested, or would like to become interested, in the fascinating genera of plants named Geraniaceae. Members receive four quarterly copies of the Society’s Journals per year plus have access to expert advice and can enter or just visit Society shows and events.

A group of 21 garden attractions, consisting of private gardens, small specialist nurseries, an arboretum and public garden and two family owned garden centres – all situated in the sunny south east of Ireland.
Wexford Local Development (WLD) has been developing a series of tourism trails and networks across County Wexford, through the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013. This has enabled a strategic development of the tourism sector and the Garden Trail was the first to be formed in conjunction with Wexford County Council and Fáilte Ireland in April 2012.
Our gardens reflect the history and diversity of the county and its landscape. Some of the gardens were originally laid out in the 18th and 19th centuries while others were begun just 10 years ago. Our larger public gardens provide an ideal outing for all the family, and our smaller private gardens will give you not only an enjoyable and relaxing day, they will also introduce you to the large range of plants which we can grow in this temperate region. Our trail includes specialist nurseries for the more unusual plants and, spread throughout the county, award winning garden centres who will provide for all your garden needs.

Welcome to the Roots and Shoots, Whittingham Gardening Club, Walthamstow. The club meets at 8.00 p.m. to 10 00 p.m. on the first Friday of each month at Unity Hall, Bramley Close, Walthamstow, E17 6EG. Benefits of joining the club include: guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening subjects, demonstrations on aspects of horticulture, a monthly newsletter, expert help with your gardening projects, outings to nurseries and other places of gardening interest and an annual flower show in July.
The National Dahlia Society was formed in 1881 and for over a century has given unbroken service to gardeners interested in this wonderful flower. We are now a registered charity, which seeks to promote the dahlia by means of exhibitions (shows), trials and conferences. We are the world’s largest all-dahlia society and annually hold our main exhibitions at RHS Wisley and the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, Yorkshire, with reduced admission for members of course!
Twice a year – with our Winter Bulletin and summer publication, The Dahlia Annual – we keep members informed on every aspect of dahlia news, with items covering culture, trials, shows, cultivar selection, etc. These books are issued free to members, and in addition, on enrolment, our current Classified Directory (containing lists of recommended cultivars) and ‘Dahlias For You’ by Ted Collins are also sent free of charge to the new member.
Other events are organised annually, like our conferences, held around the country in March. Mention must be made of the Society’s unique information service, that helps members with any problems they might have and provides for personal contact with our representatives in Wales, Scotland and Ireland. We also have linking contacts with international dahlia societies, this forming a chain of information for our members that spans the globe.
The National Begonia Society was formed in 1948 the Society has members throughout the United Kingdom and overseas. We have representatives based throughout the country who organise Area Shows & Meetings and are available to offer advice to members.
Promote and encourage the more extended culture of begonias. Though there are thousands of begonias (species and hybrids) known and grown throughout the world there is no doubt that in the UK the most popular one grown is the large flowered tuberous double. The Society wishes to encourage many more members to cultivate a much wider range of begonia species and hybrids.
Historic Roses Group – Founded in 1990 by members of the Royal National Rose Society (RNRS) with a particular interested in roses of historical importance, including those no longer widely grown and rose species and their hybrids.
The Group publishes the Historic Rose Journal twice yearly, mounts exhibits relating to the history of the rose at horticultural shows, arranges garden visits both in the UK and abroad and organises conferences. Currently it is engaged in a project to establish a national collection of British bred roses.
Membership of the Group can be independent of the RNRS.
